 1 cup chopped tomatoes
2  shallot chopped
2 cloves garlic chopped
Curry leaves chopped
¼  tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
½ tsp  Turmeric powder
Rasam powder 1/4 tsp
2 tbsp  pepper powder
 3 – 4  cups water
A pinch Asafoetida

 Mustard seeds
1 dried chilly broken
¼ tsp cumin seeds
Curry leaves
 Coriander leaves
 Oil 1 tsp

I n a bowl add tomatoes, shallots, garlic, curry leaver, cumin seeds & salt, squeeze with hand nicely, add little water, turmeric  & cook until soft then add rasam powder, pepper powder, add more water & boil well, add asafetida & coriander leaves
In another pan, pour oil, splutter mustard seeds, add dried chilies, cumin seeds, put curry leaves, and add this to the tomato rasam & mix well. Serve hot with plain rice.
