Bengal gram dal - Kadalai paruppu - 1 cup
Spinach leaves - 1 cup( chopped )
Onion - 1 no.
Green chilly - 2 nos.
Ginger i - small quantity
Garlic - 2 flakes
Dried chilly- 2 nos.
Cumin seeds - 1 table spoon
Curry leaves - small quantity
Salt to taste


Wash and soak bengal gram dal in water for 2-3 hours along with cumin seeds
and red chillies. Grind them to a smooth paste after adding ginger-garlic, green chillies,
curry leaves. Add in spinach leaves & mix. Grease idly plate with little oil and pour this
batter and cook in idly cooker. Dal idly is healthy and ready to be served. Serve it with chutneys.
