SPICY FRESH FRUITS SALAD ( ROJAK )



Mixed fruits A:

Cucumber
Guava
Pineapple
Green mango
Ripe but firm papaya
Green apple
Jicama (sengkung) 

Add any fruits of your choice, all sliced.

B:

Fried prawn crackers
(crush lightly)
2 strips yow cha kwai, sliced

Topping C:

300gm roast coarsely crush peanut
50 gm toasted sesame seeds

Sauce :

6 red chillies pounded
5 birds eye chillies pounded
1 tsp toasted prawn paste
 (belacan, pounded)
5-6 tbsp palm sugar grated
3 tbsp tamarind paste
3 tbsp shrimp paste (har koh)
Salt to taste
½ cup water

Boil the above ingredients together into
a thick sauce, keep aside.

METHOD:

Mix A & B with sauce.
Sprinkle with C & serve.
 
Jicama is a sweet, root vegetable that looks like a turnip.
It can be eaten raw and is often found in salads.
